The short scale

The short ladder was created in 1978 by the writer Bertrand Gauthier. It is the first publishing house in Quebec to devote itself exclusively to children's literature and is one of the pioneers in the field of children's books with Éditions Paulines, Pierre Tisseyre and Héritage.

Inspired by European dynamism in children's literature, Gauthier wants to "put Quebec in line with the world" and intends to publish original, strong and current works, written by local authors. The enthusiasm of the community is immediate and the catalog is quickly enriched with works for all age groups: all-cards, albums, documentaries, first readings, children's and teen novels.
