Originally from Quebec, Barbara Jacques was deeply influenced from a young age by the wilderness. Her imagination developed through contact with natural landscapes and animal life, while being marked by a sensitivity to fragility in the face of violence and the harsh reality of human-animal relationships.

Subsequently, her training in graphic design and her experience in this field refined her visual language. She integrated typography into her practice, carefully exploring the forms and the evocative power of characters and words.
